Advert for Level 3 Teaching Assistant

 Teaching Assistant (Level 3 prefered)

 

Start date: September 2019

Hours: 4 days per week 8:30 until 3:15, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday

Pay Point 7 to 12 depending on the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate

 

We are looking for an enthusiastic and confident teaching assistant to initially work with our KS1 classes for the 2019/20 academic year. We are a small, nurturing school set in an attractive village nestled in the Chiltern Hills.

 

An ability to be able to provide PPA time in Early Years Classes in addition to working with our Years 1 and 2 pupils would be an advantage. An interest in PE would also be an advantage.

 

The ideal candidate will have previous experience working in schools and be confident in working with pupils who have a range of behavioural and educational needs.

JOB DESCRIPTION:          LEVEL 3 TEACHING ASSISTANT                                                          

 

 

Hours of Work: : 4 days per week 8:30 until 3:15, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday

 

Responsibilities:

 

Working as part of a small team the level 3 TA needs to demonstrate excellent initiative and be involved in class teaching plus have a strong willingness to interact not just with the pupils but the teachers and parents. The ability to demonstrate a natural affinity and empathy with children is essential.

 

 Duties:

 

  • Undertake lesson planning in conjunction with the teacher
  • Prepare all resources in preparation for lessons
  • Prepare displays as required
  • Observe and record specific findings
  • Undertake teaching cover for colleague illness
  • Undertake more focussed group work
  • Plan and run P.E. lessons, particularly for small groups of Nursery pupils
  • Undertake child assessments
  • Support the teacher during lessons by taking messages and dealing with issues that cannot be covered by the teacher
  • Ensure classroom or work area is tidied up at end of each day
  • Undertake playground duties
  • Tend to the welfare of the children
  • Undertake a First Aid course
  • Prepare and deliver interventions
  • Ad hoc duties as required
