Lee Common Church of England School

Religious Studies & Collective Worship

Lee Common School is a voluntary controlled Church of England school with a Christian ethos.  A whole school assembly is held each morning.  The vicar of St John the Baptist, Reverend David Burgess, takes an assembly once a week.  The children also attend the local church, St John the Baptist, on a regular basis (for Easter, Christmas and Harvest celebrations) and frequent visits to the church are arranged.  Our families also support the Rotary Shoebox Appeal on a yearly basis.  The school follows the Buckinghamshire Agreed Syllabus on RE which is delivered using the Oxford Diocesan Scheme of Work.   We teach children about a wide range of different religions, beliefs and customs to reflect the diverse world within which our children live.  Parents have the right to withdraw their child from religious education and collective worship; a request in writing to the Headteacher is required.
