Key Stage One Curriculum
Our Key Stage One (Years 1 and 2) Curriculum is based on the National Curriculum, the link to which can be found below.
At Lee Common CE School, we have further developed this curriculum and have considered the progression for our children. We currently teach the following subjects:
• English
• Mathematics
• Science
• Computing
• Personal, Social, Relationships and Health Education
• Religious Education (from the Oxford Diocese Scheme of Work).
• Physical Education
• History
• Geography
• Art
• Music and Dance
• Design and Technology
Our children also have the opportunity to learn French in an extra-curricular lunchtime club.
There is a focus on teaching through topics and a creative curriculum, linking the different core and specialist subjects through a half-termly theme – for example, Travel and Transport. Timetables are broad and balanced ensuring opportunities for academic, physical, creative, social and personal development.
