  • New arrivals!

We have three new visitors in school... can you guess what they might be?  They can't wait to meet you!

  • Our very own field!

    Sun 29 Nov 2020 C Gresswell

We are so excited to now have our very own green field adjacent to our rear playground.  We are indebted to the Stewart-Liberty family, not only for allowing us to use this beautiful corner of Manor Park, but also for providing a fence and gate so that we no longer have to dodge the cows (and the cow pats!) when we go to Forest School.  The lovely patch of nature will be put to good use for science lessons, Forest School and other outdoor learning and we can't wait to see and hear the children enjoying the freedom to run and play on grass.

  • Sparkling up the School - Summer 2020

Sun 29 Nov 2020 Claire Gresswell
In the summer holidays of 2020 one of our new governors together with the new Headteacher decided that the school could do with a much needed spruce up.  On one of the hottest weekends of the summer, a group of staff, parents, governors and local residents worked a little bit of magic and gave the school a much needed wash and brush up.  We cleared out, cleaned up, jet-washed, swept out, painted and polished until we could do no more. The windows were washed, drains were cleared and books were sorted.  We couldn't wait for the children and staff to return in September and feel the love that had been put back into the building.   We are indebted to all the volunteers who worked so hard to bring a bit of sparkle back to our school.  Check out our gallery to see more photos of the end results!
  • Lest We Forget

    Wed 18 Nov 2020 CGresswell

On Remembrance Day this year, our Year 2 pupils represented the school and went to lay our wreaths at the village memorial.  They took their duty very seriously and their behaviour was impeccable.  They showed great respect at the memorial, holding a two minute silence and then reading out the poem they had written as a class. Thank you Swallows Class.

    Here is their poem:

    We will remember

Carts squelching slowly through the thick mud,

Large booming bombs making loud bangs,

Horses’ hooves clip-clopping to take people to safety.

Terrible smells from rats racing around,

Strong smells of smoke billow everywhere.

Hungry soldiers waiting to stop for food, feeling like it is the end of the world.

They want to go home and they miss their families.

Scared, tired and unsafe everywhere they go,

Kind nurses helping soldiers to heal,

Rifles aiming from down in the trenches, shooting in the distance.

Then there was silence. It was over. Celebrations began.

    We will remember.
